One of the biggest advancements in education is the use of computers and the Internet. Computers have taken the traditional ideals of teaching through books and brought it to a new level. With computers and the Internet, kids can learn about history, practice writing, view experiments and a host of other uses. The computer has become a helpful tool for educators to supplement the current curriculum using textbooks.

In addition to classroom uses, the computer and access to the Internet have provided kids with the opportunity to explore the world at home. Through educational and informational websites like those of Disney, PBS and Nickelodeon, kids can learn through stories, activities and games. These are activities that can help expand the world of the kids, but also they can have fun while doing so.

As parents and educators we need to encourage children to explore the world through the use of computers and the Internet, while also having an appreciation for books.
