Microsoft Office is a collection of applications for use on both Windows and Mac computers. Included in these applications are programs that can enhance education. The Word program allows students to write their essays on the computer and either print them or submit them to their instructors digitally. Office is also useful within the classroom. The PowerPoint program can be utilized by both teachers and students to give presentations with pictures, animations and videos, sharing information in ways that oral reports simply cannot. Word

Microsoft Word is a word processing program that can be used to write a variety of different documents. In each of the more than twelve versions since its original release in 1983, Microsoft Word has added more and more features. Today it is capable of letting users create bulleted or numbered lists, tables, and even incorporate pictures. Although Word is most known for its use on Windows computers, there are versions available for Mac computers as well.

Outlook

Microsoft Outlook is defined as a personal information manager. Its most well-known feature is its e-mail application. However, it also features a calendar and a slew of other features. PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is used for presentations. In its early stages it was actually known as Presenter, but the name was changed due to copyright. Excel

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that allows users to create charts and graphs using the data on tables. Like the other programs in Microsoft Office, Excel has versions compatible with both PC and Mac.
